The SOCC seeks to re-establish the
Centro Cultural de la Raza as a relevant and dynamic community cultural
Center that is open and responsive to the aspirations of the Chican@ /
Mexican@ / Indigena community; that supports the free expression and
liberating qualities of our culture; and that embraces all races, ages,
genders and sexual preferences.

Centro Coalition is a member of the National
Association of Latino Arts and Culture
We Support the SOCC!

7th Annual International Dia de la Mujer

Pistolera in San Diego
New York's Pistolera performed to a full house at SOCC members the Red CalacArts Collective's 7th Annual International Women's Day Celebration. Friends and family welcomed Pistolera singer and San Diego native Sandra Velasquez to the San Diego City College Saville Theater with a rousing applause and dancing in the aisles. The bandmembers signed autographs and talked to fans afer the show.
A special thank you to artists Pistolera, Olga A. Echeverria, Sara Eslava, Maria Figueroa, Pearl, Maria Guardado, Randy Vasquez and organizers Consuelo Manriquez, Annie Ross, Sandra Sarmiento, Mariajulia Urias, the Red CalacArts Collective, and co-organizers Elva Salinas and the SD City College World Cultures Program.
