EXHIBIT HIGHLIGHTS


The legendary lowrider Gypsy Rose is one of more than 15 Southern California cars featured in the "Bajitos y Suavecitos" exhibit at the San Diego Automotive Museum.


Incredible cars from the 1930s to the 1970s are featured in the exhibit.


Master modeler Armando Flores is shown here holding his model car "Las Vegas."


More than 20 intricately customized model cars by members of the Master Modelers of Southern California are also on display as part of the "Bajitos y Suavecitos" exhibit.


A unique collection of artwork by David Avalos, Victor C. de Baca, Victor Cordero, Ricardo Islas, Gilbert "Magu" Lujan, Victor Ochoa, Werc 1 and others is featured as part of the "Bajitos y Suavecitos" exhibit.

The "Bajitos y Suavecitos" exhibit also features a fantastic assemblage of Chicano car club memorabilia, including jackets, plaques, posters and photographs. Pictured here are rare wool jackets from 1950s Chicano youth clubs.
